Magazines!!
Hi,
Ok so i'm an editor and i am wondering which magazines i should give my resume to. I was thinking Seventeen, Allure, or Teen Vogue.
Yes, yes. Nothing to do with gw..even though..i get a job and i buy a new computer... but that's why it's in the off-topic section.
Thanks so much everyone!!

Apply to every magazine you can think of.
The worst they can say is no...
Well maybe pass your name to every other publisher and put you on a blacklist, but that's not likely.

Apply everywhere and anywhere you can think of....hell even apply for some jobs you think you are not even qualified for.
Also if you do eye something you really want, apply and go after it like it was the last job on the planet. If you interview call back a couple of days later and see how things are going down, if they say that they are still making a decision keep calling...persistence will land you a lot of jobs.

Who have you done editing work for?
I'll give another vote for sending your resume to all of them. Some are bound to turn you down, but if you get accepted at more than one, then you can take your pick. Try to be nice when doing this, to the ones you say "No" to.
I'm trying to figure this out: is editor at Seventeen a really stressful job? Are teenage girls especially catty about spelling/grammar mistakes?

It's not what you know, it's who you know.
Those are some serious high rollers there, you can try your luck if you want but I'd get some credentials under your belt first, *local* newspapers, out doors magazines, real estate magazines, just get your name out there and as many places as possible.
Start small, then go after the big fish.
